Today's collaborative pianists are expected to go beyond mastery of the notes on the page, extending into style, historical practice, and for those working with singers, language. While some university and conservatory programs offer collaborative pianists the opportunity to study foreign language and diction, others leave these studies up to the pianist.
As a pianist herself, Juliet has great appreciation for a strong collaboration between singer and pianist, as well as for the importance of the marriage between music and language. She is pleased to offer language and diction courses especially designed to guide vocal coaches, with a focus on rules within each language, International Phonetic Alphabet, as well as its application to the singer's voice. Please contact Juliet for more information.
