JULIET PETRUS

Writing for the Voice: Fundamentals for Composers

As a frequent singer of new works, she has found that composers less familiar with writing for the voice often have many of the same questions such as:
  • What makes a work singable, or  well-written for the voice?
  • What is the key to successful text setting?
  • And, what is the difference between range and tessitura?
Juliet loves collaborating with composers and enjoys the process of creating new works. She is excited to speak with new composers about the challenges singers face when performing new music. Reach out to Juliet directly for more information.
